Since the inception of the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force, Founder Kimberly Wong and Executive Director Caron Post have combined their personal experiences, passion, expertise, and organizing efforts surrounding Perinatal Mental Health into the creation of a unique structure deeply rooted in advocacy. Recently featured in The Los Angeles Psychologist, the article Patient Advocacy and Perinatal Mental Health: How a Personal Healing Journey Can Give Birth to a World of Systems Change provides a glimpse into history of the Task Force and the continued collaborative work that the organization is doing to strengthen and implement systemic change surrounding maternal mental health within LA County.


The mission of the Los Angeles County Perinatal Mental Health Task Force is to remove barriers to the prevention, screening and treatment of prenatal and postpartum depression in Los Angeles County. The Task Force is a project of 501(c)3 fiscal sponsor Community Partners.
